The Director of Procurement is responsible for leading and managing most aspects of the
procurement function for both the food manufacturing and food franchise operations. This role
ensures the efficient sourcing and supply of high-quality raw materials, ingredients, and goods
while maintaining cost-effectiveness and compliance with regulatory standards. The Director of
Procurement will develop and execute procurement strategies, build strong vendor
relationships, and collaborate with various departments to support the company's growth and
operational objectives.

● Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies
that align with the company's goals and objectives, ensuring cost-effective sourcing and
supply chain efficiency. This will include commodity-based supplies for multiple
production locations around the country and the needs of the retail stores.
● Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and
vendors, negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing to secure the best value for the
company.
● Quality Assurance: Ensure all procured materials and goods meet the company's
quality standards and regulatory requirements, working closely with the Quality
Assurance and production department.
● Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to ensure the timely availability of
materials and goods, minimizing stockouts and excess inventory. Our flavors of spreads
change weekly, resulting in the need for ingredient mix to change weekly on short notice.
Simultaneously this will require planning to avoid waste as these materials may never be
utilized in the future. Being able to anticipate demand on partial information is a critical
aspect of success in this position.
● Cost Control: Monitor and control procurement costs, identifying opportunities for cost
savings and process improvements. Monitor total inventory value and available
warehouse space to maximize cost efficiency while maintaining world class service
levels
● Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about key
industry trends, supplier capabilities, and potential risks.
● Supply Chain Optimization: Collaborate with the supply chain and logistics teams to
optimize the flow of materials and goods, ensuring efficient and cost-effective
distribution.
● Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, developing
contingency plans to address disruptions.
● Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior
management, providing insights into procurement performance and recommendations
for improvement.
Working Conditions
● The role will require occasional travel to suppliers, manufacturing sites, and franchise
locations. Onsite presence is required due to the nature of this role.
● Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strict adherence to
safety and quality standards.
● Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration,
or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
● Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in
a leadership role within the food manufacturing or food service industry.
● Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, supply chain management,
and industry best practices.
● Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills. Excellent
communication and leadership abilities. Proficiency in procurement management
software and tools.
● Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) are highly desirable.
